YOUTH HOUSE “ROPOTAMO”

Youth house “Ropotamo” of CONCORDIA Bulgaria foundation is located in a small family house in Sofia. The service is intended for 8 adolescents between the ages of 14 and 18 who live in it permanently because their parents temporarily and for various reasons are unable to take care of them. The youths can stay with us until reaching legal adulthood or until they finish their secondary education at 18-20 years.

In our house the youths receive support from a team of specialists and volunteers who participate actively in their daily life. We take care that the adolescents go to school; have an adequate circle of friends; keep their relationship with their relatives and extended family; receive appropriate information for their future. A focal point in our support is to refer them to different professions, to prepare them for searching and starting a job. We strive to provide them with the needed tools and to develop in them skills for independent life after leaving our house, we take care of their basic needs such as shelter, food, security and protection.

With our work in Youth house “Ropotamo” we want to place the responsibility back into the hands of the adolescents because realizing their potential and opportunities and having the skills and mindset for independence are key for their equal and successful life in the future.

In Youth house “Ropotamo” we provide the following social services with license from the Bulgarian Agency for Quality of Social Services:

• Residential care
• Skills training
• Informing and consulting
