The Center for children and families “Zaharna fabrika” in CONCORDIA Bulgaria Foundation is a state delegated service by Sofia Municipality. The center is located in the Zaharna fabrika area and has a capacity of 50 children and their families between the ages of 5 and 18.

In Center for children and families “Zaharna fabrika” people in need can receive support for a period of 3 to 6 months. They can come to us voluntarily and receive access to public services as per their needs. They can also be referred by the Child Protection Department or the Municipality in which case they receive services in accordance with their recommendation.

In the center we support children and families living in inequality who are facing social difficulties, live under the poverty threshold, are at risk of exclusion from the educational and healthcare system and need targeted aid with reintegration into society. In our work we prioritize educational support, consultations on different topics, therapy and rehabilitation programs for people in need. We provide services within the communities – intensive outreach social work in the field.

The main goal of our work in Center for children and families “Zaharna fabrika” is to provide an environment for people in need which is safe, accepting and encouraging development. We strive to make them more confident in their own abilities which will encourage them to continue forward with their development.
